Yifan Zhang
Hi, I’m Yifan Zhang, an incoming PhD student in Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University, where I will begin in Fall 2026.
Previously, I worked as a summer intern at Yale University under the supervision of Professor Hongyu Zhao. I am completing my Bachelor’s degree in Statistics at Zhejiang University.
I am broadly interested in developing statistical and machine learning methods for large-scale genomic and metagenomic data. Specific topics I have worked on include:
- Spatial transcriptomics alignment and deconvolution
- Cross-study batch-effect correction for microbiome data
- Multimodal deep-learning-based cancer risk prediction
Outside academia, I enjoy music, basketball and skiing.
